Sailing a dinghy is one of the most pleasurable boating experiences. They are small and lightweight, making them easy to handle and transport. 

But when it comes time to dispose of an old dinghy, it is important to do so responsibly. You can’t just leave it on the side of the road or in a field. That would be irresponsible and it would cause harm to nature.

The best solution is to contact us, and we will help to either Re-Home the boat, or recycle it responsibly.

Dinghies are often made of fiberglass, a material that does not decompose. When disposed of in a landfill, they take up valuable space and can release harmful chemicals into the environment. 

The best way to dispose of an old dinghy is to find a new owner who will appreciate it as much as you did. You can also donate your dinghy to a local sailing club or youth group. Our company, Responsible Boat Disposal, does offer the service of Re-Homing, i.e. finding a new owner for your old boat. 

If Re-Homing proves impossible, the second best alternative is to bring the dinghy to our recycling center. There, the dinghy will be broken down and the materials will be recycled. This is the most responsible way to dispose of a dinghy and it doesn’t cause much harm to the environment. If you cannot bring the boat over to us, we can remove the dinghy from your property and help to find the best way of disposal of the old craft.

Some people might think that they can just throw their dinghy in the trash, but that’s not the right thing to do. If everyone did that, eventually there would be so much trash in landfills that it would cause problems for the environment. So, please, recycle your old sailing dinghy instead of throwing it away.
