For those who have a bit of a romance with the more classic designs of boat, this name may be of recognition. The Rossiter Heron design was conceived by Hugh Rossiter and Charles Purbrook at their yard in Christchurch. The Rossiter Herons were built over the 50's and part of the 60s, with a weighty full keel and a sloop rig. This one in particular was built in 1956. Her bellowing, almost barge-like shape means that despite being only 22ft, she has levels of space not often associated with a sailboat of her size.
She has been out of the water since November due to a problem with the engine. She does also have a few other issues that need addressing, such as lacquer discolouration on the topsides (as can be seen in the photographs), as well a couple small areas of rot on the coachroof and rubbing strip. It has also been reported that the rigging is of an age to want replacing. This boat comes with 1x Jib and 1x Mainsail, both of the classic-style red cloth.
She has a partial ownership and maintenance history which can be provided in hard copy if desired.
