8ft Rowing Dinghy

Afloat in Woodbridge, IP12

Today we offer a free rowing dinghy.  

With those three buoyancy chambers she's supposed to be unsinkable. One rowlock socket is wobbly due to the wood under the gunwales having crumbled away. There isn't  enough wood any more  to hold filler. The wood strips under the gunwales (surprisingly) don't  seem to be a structural necessity,  the sides of the boat don't wobble, only the dodgy socket.  The wood on the other (port) side is better than that shown, but probably needs replacing, too. Good for any professional or hobbyist who can work and bend  wood, and put some cosmetic fibreglassing to the top of the starboard gunwale, but not worth it to me.  She had a hole when bought by her current owner, but that was fibreglassed over and she's been afloat continuously without shipping water ever since . Still, that bears watching.

She is currently in the water, can retrieved at the Deben Yacht Club , IP12 4BB.
