7.8m clinker Spartan design Alan Buchanan wooden classic boat moored at Birdham Pool.

Salamati is an Alan Buchanan designed ‘Spartan’ class.
She is approximately 22 feet overall, 7 feet 6 in. beam, 3 feet 6 in. draft.

Salamati comes with a full set of sails. She is afloat in Birdham Pool Marina.

She is clinker planking on steamed oak or rock elm timbers, built in late 1950s or early 1960s. Spars are Sitka spruce, and the mast is stepped on deck. She has a spacious cockpit for her size, but the well does not self drain. Berth cushions and cover new in 2017. Engine was overhauled about the same time, but has not been run since then
