'Tigershark' 38m Tansu Wood/Epoxy Hull
Afloat on the River Fal, Cornwall
About her
A rare opportunity to take on a substantial 38-metre hull for a project on an epic scale. Designed by Diana Naval Architects, engineered by Tansu Yachts and built in Turkey, this unfinished hull was originally conceived as a luxury superyacht (project name M/Y Tigershark One). She could now be a unique foundation for a bespoke houseboat conversion or a floating venue, subject to the relevant regulations and permissions.
The hull is a wood/epoxy build, measuring 38.4 x 7.5 m, and is reportedly watertight. Her displacement is not known. She has a deck and the beginnings of a superstructure, with an internal wood/ply floor and some plywood partitions, but the whole structure requires a complete build-out.
Inside, there are some steel fuel and water tanks and two prop shafts already installed. No other equipment or machinery is fitted.
Condition and mooring
She has been afloat for several years and will need cleaning. The hull was cleaned at one point and has been kept under observation. She is currently underneath a temporary corrugated roof for weather protection, which has deteriorated and will need attention or removal by the new owner.
The hull is on a deepwater mooring on the River Fal under a monthly-paid mooring agreement with a local shipyard, which could potentially be taken over by the new owner.
Original Tansu general arrangement drawings (dated 2019) and renderings of the finished yacht are available to serious applicants.
Before you apply
Please consider the scale of this project carefully before applying. We understand that a full build-out to a yacht would cost in the region of EUR 8-15 million and take around two years at a shipyard. For reference, breaking up and disposing of the hull amounts to a six-figure sum. Applicants must have access to funds adequate for either completing or disposing of the vessel.
If you have any questions about the boat or the re-homing process, please ask before filling in the form. However, please note that this advert contains all the information we currently have on this vessel.
