In Poole
The Westerly Tempest, an Ed Dubois design (as you may tell from the blue stripe), was a made as a cruising alternative to the more racing-focused Westerly Storm. Over 100 of these were made in the mid 1990's due to their favourable size/manoeuvrability ratio. More details of the project under this link https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/tempest-31-westerly/ Although we do not know of a Westerly Tempest association, there is a very strong and active Westerly Owners association.
Due to her age Caliban is starting to require some larger jobs which the current owner is not in position to do themselves. These involve fixing the water maker, failing electrics, and an engine which starts to overheat after 20minutes of regular use.
There is a furling headsail and a mainsail both Kemp sails. The engine is a Volvo Penta 2000 series. The water problem is with the storage system which leaks and does not pump to the taps.
The photos below show her inside condition is still fair, and her outside in need of a scrub. She will be a worthy project for someone willing to give her the love.
